Baby Strange are back with a brand new single! ‘Motormind’ which was released last Friday is the first track from the Glasgow three-piece since their album ‘Want It Need It’ released last year. Give our review a read below….

Following on from their album ‘Want It Need It’ released last year, the Glaswegian three-piece are back with a brand new track! ‘Motormind’ which was released last Friday is our first teaser of what’s to come from their new EP ‘extended play’ released July this year.

With a slightly different sound direction than previous releases, ‘Motormind’ still captures that same luring energy that you would associate with a Baby Strange single. ‘Motormind’ is a high tempo rush packed into two and a half minutes. Having elements reminiscent of the 70’s punk era a continuously driving guitar riff rolls over the top of an energetically bold drum rhythm which intertwines with a prominently bold bass-line giving the track an overall heavier feel.

Appearing solo at different points throughout the track, the bass-line adds a groove element giving a generally high energy feeling to the single leaving room for it to be a brilliant track live. The lyrics provide a fun insight into getting bored of the same mundane routines and wanting to break out of trends and do something against it. With raw powerful vocals and in a sense lyrics that people can draw a relation and similarity to. The track closes with thrashing instrumentation and a building overall energy of one final run through of the chorus before abruptly ending and leaving you with a need to hit repeat.

‘Motormind’ is a solidly strong start to Baby Strange’s 2017 and leaves us excited to hear their new EP and new direction as a band!
