Minnesota 4 piece Hippo Campus, brought their UK headline tour to Glasgow’s Stereo this past Sunday evening. With support from Leeds energetic Marsicans, it was a gig which was highly anticipated by many of Glasgow’s indie music fans.
With an atmospheric, slow beginning Hippo Campus took to Stereo’s stage. A suspenseful audience were hit with the quartet’s American charm and their magnetising sound. Their indie pop and tropical infused songs echoed off the venues walls. Playing a handful of new songs from their debut album “Landmark” which is due for release on the 24th February. The new certainly living up to the standard of their older songs. Fan favourite Suicide Saturday was soaked up by the crowd and Sophie So was loudly demanded. It was clear for most of the band’s set the crowd was very much in their hands. The Glasgow gig was definite a win, winning us over and probably several others to.
