Circa Waves – Wake Up – Single Review

After a two year wait for long anticipated news of a new album, after the amazing success their debut album ‘Young Chasers’ received, fans have been graced with new music from the Liverpool four-piece. All hail the release of their new track ‘Wake Up’ which comes as a preview to what’s in store with the bands recently announced new album ‘Different Creatures’ set to be released March 10th next year.

From the very beginning the track builds tension with an antagonistic opening guitar line followed up by aggressive guitar riffs building into a full band ensemble, bursting into this sweet sounding indie-rock track which completely rips itself away from anything we’ve heard before from Circa Waves. An unapologetic, angsty track which ensures it takes a bold step completely into it’s own and say’s fuck it to following the usual song recommendations. A bold step which has proven highly successful for Circa Waves as fans appear to be basking in the bands new direction .

With a catchy melody that you can move your feet to, this track is a clear crowd starting song, all ready for their UK headline tour next March… Dynamic vocals drawing you further into the song coupled with powerful melodies and riffs, there is really no fault to pick with this song. Overall, the single is a fast paced, high energy adrenaline rush from start to finish. Leaving you in awe as to where exactly the time went, you get lost listening to each individual section building to create a just over three minute journey of a killer track, which will  leave you full of excitement for their new album.

The track also comes along with a brand new video from the band, so get your retinas wrapped around it and fall in love with the track as we have all come to…

You can catch Circa Waves on their tour of the UK starting next March so make sure you grab your tickets and get along…
